George Franklin Morris, 99 of Hanford California, passed away on February 20th, 2017. He was born on June 23rd, 1917 in Mulberry Tennessee to Clarence and Myrtle Morris. George was the oldest son of seven children and spent his younger years hunting and fishing in Flat Creek Tennessee. Work brought George to Hanford in 1936, where he met the love of his life, Lorraine Lankford. George began his service in the US Army in 1941 and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant in 1945. He and Lorraine were married in 1943. They welcomed their daughter Judy in 1944 and their son Patrick in 1947. George devoted 37 years to Central Valley Co-Op (CVC) where he distributed fuel and managed the department. Throughout those years he developed some lifelong friendships with his customers. George was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping and RV travel with his family. George was so very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved attending his great-grandsons football and baseball games and they loved having him there. George is survived by his beautiful wife Lorraine Morris of 74 years, his two children Judy Morris and Patrick Morris. Two grandchildren Tami Sanchez (Tim) and Rhonda Gates (Geoff) and five great-grandsons: Dustin Drennen, Cannon Sanchez, Brayden Sanchez, Stetson Gates and Jagger Gates.
