Glenda graduated from Redwood High School. In 1989, she began her career with Visalia Unified School District working as a site secretary for Royals Oak Elementary School. She then moved to Divisadero Middle School, and finally to Visalia Unified School District Office, where she would retire as a Personnel Analyst. Glenda loved working with everyone at VUSD and enjoyed her 23 years of service.
Glenda met and married the love of her life, Tim Fitzgerald, in 1979. Together they raised three daughters, Debbie (Lee) Williams, De Anna Fitzgerald, and Breann (Josh) Phillips. Her true loves of her life were her three grandchildren, Hannah and Emmalei Rodrigues and Ryder Phillips.
Glenda was diagnosed in 2013 with early onset Alzheimer’s. She fought every day to stay with her family while battling this disease, but in the end, the disease won. Glenda never forgot the love of her family and her family will never forget the love she had for them. We would like to thank everyone at Casa Grande Senior Care Home for the care and support they provided her these last two years; and we would also like to thank Kathy Guinn for her love and support.
We will hold a celebration of life for Glenda in the coming months, as our family is currently engaged in another health crisis, which does not allow us to safely gather at this time. If you would like to join us for a celebration of the warm, funny, amazing, generous, and honest Glenda Fitzgerald, please email us your name and address to [email protected].
“Because I knew you, I have been changed for the good”.
