Born Jean Pamela Sewell on May 9, 1928, in Dogsthorpe, Petersborough, United Kingdom, to Arthur and Dorothy Sewell, Jean's life was defined by a spirit of adventure. On July 4, 1957, she made the bold journey to the United States to marry the love of her life, Robert "Bob" James Boudah. They were wed on October 27, 1957, in Florence, Massachusetts, beginning a partnership that would take them across the globe.
As a dedicated military spouse, Jean supported Bob through his career in the United States Air Force. Together, they lived at Westover AFB in Massachusetts, Brize Norton AFB in the UK, and Beale AFB in California. Upon their retirement from the USAF in 1968, they settled in Hanford, where they built a life filled with happiness and community.
Jean was a familiar face in Hanford, where she worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Sears and later at Faruzzi's Welding Supply. When she wasn't working, she and Bob loved to travel, with Pismo Beach and the Central Coast holding a particularly special place in their hearts.
Jean found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was known for her famous mincemeat tarts and sausage rolls, her talent for knitting, and her love of relaxing in the sun to work on her tan. She was rarely without a nice glass of white zinfandel or the company of her beloved Yorkies, Samson and Gidget.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; her sons, Robert Doran and Bruce Raymond Boudah; and her sister, Dorothy Fox. Her family takes great comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her husband, her sons, and all the loved ones—both human and canine—who went before her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience through her children, Mark (Patricia) Boudah, Carol Horrod, Shelley (Edward) Leal and her daughter in law Jeanne Boudah.
Her memory will be cherished by her nine grandchildren: Matthew, Robert, Natale, Daniel and Greg Boudah; Melissa Love; Jacob and Shane Leal; and Kathryn Archer. Jean was also the proud and loving great-grandmother to numerous great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved very much.
Jean lived life to the fullest, and her warmth and spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew her.
