OBITUARY

Jeffrey Allen Whitacre

26 January, 1968 – 27 October, 2021
IN THE CARE OF

People’s Funeral Chapel

Jeffrey Allen Whitacre, age 53, passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. Jeff was born in Mt. Shasta, California to Thelma (Walters) Whitacre and Lee Allen Whitacre.

In his early years, Jeff served in the United States Navy. After he transitioned from military life, he spent time working as a general manager at Pep Boys and most recently as an electronics technician for HH Gregg.

At home, he enjoyed fixing anything he could get his hands on. If anyone needed help fixing an appliance or electronic, Jeff had you covered. This was especially true when it came to cars, a passion he shared with his father. He also enjoyed spending as much time as possible in front of a grill. He loved to share his joy of cooking with others and explain the process of what he had created. When it came to hobbies, he also enjoyed woodworking and a lesser-known talent of drawing. Jeff also spent many years refining and curating the perfect home theater set up. If you were ever treated to a movie or a sporting event, you could be confident you were getting the ultimate experience. When it came to sports, he loved no team more than the Raiders. Even during the years of his life in Indiana, with the constant pressure from Colts fans to switch teams; he never relented.

Survivors:

His loving wife of 15 years Jessica (Duckworth) Whitacre,

Daughter, Carolyn Ashleigh (Wes) Buxton,

2 Sons, Brandon Lee (Jamie), Parker Allen (at home)

6 Grandchildren, Isabel, Bailey, Amelia, and Evelynn, Brydon, and Dean

Jeff was also survived by his sister Joy (Jon) Remus and their children Brooklyn and Blake, his Uncle Charlie (Jan) Whitacre, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lee Allen Whitacre and Thelma Dean Whitacre, his grandparents (Orville and Betty Whitacre) (Clifton and Ruth Walters), and nephew Jack Ryan Remus.
