Layne was a retired Navy veteran. He traveled the world. He was very proud to serve his country. He was one of the very first servicemen to be stationed at Lemoore Navy Air Station where there were more rabbits than people. We used to laugh.
He married Susan Schmidt and they had twenty years together before her passing in 1986.
In 1989 he married Rosemary Valdez. They had thirty-three years together. They enjoyed going to Pismo and traveling with their motor home group.
Popa is survived by his wife Rosemary, his daughter Pam Christin, his son Todd Clark (Terry), his stepdaughter Marie Louise Valdez, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 sisters Senna Jo Woody, Shirley Clark, and Judy Lynch (Len), and sister-in-law Jan Clark.
He is predeceased by his parents Tom and Ruby Clark, and his brothers Tom and Don Clark.
I would like to thank everyone for being kind to Popa, Andy at From Head to Toe for always saluting him and thanking him for his service, and The Court Barber Shop.
We miss you Pop. But someone saw you getting tired so He put His arm around your waist and said “Let’s take a walk”.
I know you are in a better place but we were not ready to let you go.
