Jose Carmen Castaneda

He was born in Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato MX on July 16, 1950, son of Late Cirpiano Castaneda and Ignacia Puebla. He was survived by his spouse Sylvia Castaneda and his two Children Jorge Castaneda and Carmelita Beltran. His 3 Grandchildren, Leonardo Ramirez, Sylvia Ramirez, and Sadie Castaneda. He is also survived by his two Sisters Ana Hernandez and Consuelo Yepiz.

Jose moved to Hanford, Ca in 1978 for the American Dream from Mexico. He started his long-time business as a gardener in Hanford; he maintianed his business, Castaneda Yard Service, for 25 years before he became ill. He was forced to retire due to his illness at the age of 59. He loved what he did and was deeply saddened when he had to give up the business to his son. He managed to ride a bike with a trailer picking up a Yard Service here and there near his home to keep busy, he loved to work. As much as he loved to work he loved the Lord. He belonged to First Hanford Apostolic Church with Pastor Samuel Delgado. He made it to church no matter how, no matter what to hear the word of the lord. He did until he could no longer attend.

Many knew him as “Carmen” or “Carmelo,” he was friendly, loving, and easy to like. "Carmelo" as they would call him would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved going to see his grandson play soccer at the soc com and take his blow horn and sound it off at every goal. He loved his grandkids very much.

In his last days he was survived solely by his Son, Jorge Castaneda and daughter in law Minerva Castaneda who granted him his wish to pass at home. He loved his home, the home he came here to America and worked so hard to have. In his life he wanted nothing more than for his children to have a place to call home. His longtime dream came true till he was called by the Lord.

A Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery where his final resting place will be. No viewing will be held as those were Carmelo’s last wishes. May he Rest in Peace and may he be in the Lord’s loving arms and presence forever.
