

Juan was born to Jose & Maria Meza on March 5, 1941 in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Juan went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Adventist Medical Center in Hanford, California after a sudden passing.
While Juan was growing up he and his family moved to Donna, Texas when he was 7 years old in 1948, later at the age of 16 in 1957 he and his family relocated to California. Juan was in a large family. He had 10 siblings; Pedro, Lupe, Nina, Frances, Marta de Luz, Fortino, Manuela, Martha, Alice and Joe. Juan worked with his family his entire life. He had worked as a service truck driver for 23 years in Agriculture. Later he then worked as a CNA for 8 years, finally retiring in 2003. Juan proudly served our country in the U.S. Army serving overseas during the Vietnam War as a combat medic stationed in Korea from 1964-1966 then he went on to serve as a Reservist until 1970. He earned the rank of Corporal and had been awarded the Presidential Citation (Army/Navy Pendant). Juan has been a long time member of the Assembly of God Church; Riverdale Assembly of God from 1987-2007, Avenal Assembly of God Church from 2007-2010, and presently Armona Assembly of God Church from 2010-2012.
Juan married the love of his life; Claudia Garcia Mesa on April 15, 1967 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Riverdale, California. Together they raised their beautiful five children; John, Alfred & Albert (twins) and Anna & Angel (twins). Juan has been a resident of Hanford for the past 8 years.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents; Jose & Maria Meza and his siblings; Pedro Meza, Lupe Carrio, Hilary Meza (Infant), Jose de Jesus Meza (Infant), Maria de la Luz Meza and Fortino Meza.
Juan is survived by his beloved wife; Claudia of Hanford. He will be truly missed by his loving children; John Meza of Avenal, Alfred (Margarita) Meza of Hanford, Albert Meza of Hemet, Anna (Dylan) Conner of Hanford & Angel (Mysti) Mesa of Hanford. His ten grandchildren will forever cherish him; Dominic (Erica) Meza, Amelia Meza, Sergio Meza, Melody Meza, Darius Meza, Cara Conner, AnnMarie Meza, Desirae Meza, Nathan Conner and Danell Meza all of Hanford. Juan is also still survived by his brother; Joe Meza of Snelling and his sisters; Adelina Manriquez of Snelling, Frances Solorio of Lemoore, Manuela Salazar of Fresno, Martha Meza of Fresno and Alice Pacheco of Fresno.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-5591 with a Funeral Service on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church; 750 E. Grangeville Boulevard, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-8565 with Burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery; 19811 Cedar Avenue, Laton, CA 93242 559-923-4544.
