Judy “Amma” May Anderson, 60 was born in Hawthorne, Nevada on May 12, 1953, where she lived until she was 5. She then moved to Lemoore, California in 1958 where she started school. In 1960 she moved to Armona, California, where she lived with her mom and dad; Charles and Ethel Ransdell, her older brother; Lonnie, her older sister; Linda and her younger sister; Patricia.
Judy met her best friends, Debbie Higgins and Debbie Marin, when she started school at Armona Elementary. Judy has been best friends with both of them ever since. At the age of 15 she met the love of her life; Eldon Anderson. Judy and Eldon were married March 7, 1969 at First Baptist Church in Hanford, California. Judy attended Hanford High School where she would have graduated in 1971, but had her first child at the age of 16. Later in life her best friends included Debbie Marin, Diane Buyense and Cathy Hawthorne… Judy went back to school and received her High School diploma in 1989.
Judy had four children, two daughters; Michelle and Christina and two sons; Michael and Luke. She had five grandchildren; Michael Tommas, Nathan, Kevin, Eric, and Jeremiah.
One of Judy’s favorite sayings to her children and grandchildren was “ I love you to the moon and back”. Her grandsons are now saying it just like Amma did!
Judy spent her time as a homemaker where she loved to care for her husband and children. She loved to sew, cook and go camping. Some of her favorite places to go were; Pismo Beach, Dunsmuir, Crescent City and Kings & Sequoia National Parks in California. She also loved to go camping in the Grand Canyon National Park.
Judy wasn’t much into sports unless one of her children was participating in them, especially her son. You would see her at all of his football games, wrestling meets and every stock car race that he was in. She would be the loudest one cheering. Everyone would know who she was cheering for. She was very involved in whatever any of her children were doing. She was also a SF 49ers fan. (Not that she liked watching football, because she didn’t).
Judy passed away November 10, 2013 at the age of 60, at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia.
Judy was preceded in death by her dad; Charles Ransdell and grandsons; Michael Tommas Anderson and Eric Anderson.
