Maria Lerma Jimenez

Maria Lerma Jimenez, 86 of Hanford, California went home to be with her Lord on February 21, 2012 one day short of her 87 birthday. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and a wonderful homemaker.

Maria was born in Harlingen, Texas on February 22, 1925 to Manuel and Placida Lerma. She married Julian Jimenez in 1940 in Harlingen, Texas and they moved to Lemoore, California in the 1970's. In 1980 Julian and Maria renewed their vows in Brentwood, California surrounded by their loving family. Maria was a faithful member of St. Peter's Cathoic Church of Lemoore. She enjoyed flower gardening and camping. Maria especailly enjoyed being a grandma. She was a member of the Edad de Oro and the Gadabouts Traveling Club. Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Julian and her daughter, Rosie Guerrero. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maria is survived by seven children, Juan Jimenez and wife, Margie of Hanford, Jesus Jimenez of Pittsburgn, California, Mickey Jimenez, Stella Gaytan and husband Lupe, Julian Jimenez and wife, Candis, Reynaldo Jimenez and wife, Ester, all of Hanford, and Diana Jimenez of Lemoore; one sister, Maria Henryetta Agular of Houston, Texas and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Lemoore on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 5 -6 p.m with recitation of the rosary immediately following. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 12;30 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church of Lemoore with burial following at Lemoore Cemetery.
