Our beloved Granny, Nadine Rita Rose joined our Papa, Ernie Rose, in Heaven on Christmas Eve of this year. In her final years she quietly struggled with Alzheimer's disease from which she passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was 82 years old.
Nadine was born in Hanford Ca on July 4th 1941 to Jose and Rita Ferreira. She was the youngest of four children and graduated from Hanford High School in 1959. In 1961 she married the love of her life,
Ernie Rose and became the mother of Ed and Deborah Rose. She loved volunteering her time at the Kings County Fair Grounds helping with the Bell Bogan Building and taking care of 4H Home Arts entries. She enjoyed her time with the hospital auxiliary, better known as the Needle Inn. She
volunteered with the the City of Hope and also belonged to the Saint Brigid's Altar Society where she was responsible for all the church linens. Nadine loved to sew and is probably best known for the many beautiful capes she made for the big and little queens representing the Portuguese Festas around the valley.
Granny was the matriarch of our family. She led all our family celebrations, had all the answers and advice to all our problems, and was on top of it all. If things needed to be done, she made sure they
were. She was very giving and supported her family always. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and love her.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother, and siblings, her husband Ernie Rose, her son Ed Rose, daughter Deborah Barnett, and grand daughter Kristina Hampshire.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Tonya Schroeder, Shanda Bynum, Sarah Wilson, Rance Wilson, Ashley Rose, Darren Phenneger, numerous great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be held at People's Funeral Chapel on Wednesday January 17th at 6:30pm. Mass will be held at 10am on January 18th at Saint Brigid's Catholic Church in Hanford, Ca. A reception will follow at People's Funeral Chapel.
Family and friends are invited to view Nadine's legacy at www.peoplesfuneralchapel.com and write condolences.
