Rita Erica Gonzalez Vigil

Rita “Erica” Vigil, 32 of Hanford, California passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010 in Fresno, California surrounded by her loving family. She loved her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend.

Erica was born in Salinas, California on March 12, 1978 to Juan and Maria Gonzalez. Erica worked briefly for Midas and then worked for Natividad Hospital in medical records. She moved to Hanford, California in 2002. Erica met Alfonso Vigil Rivera in Salinas at the Sheriff Posse Grounds in 2002 and they married on August 9, 2003. To this union was born two beautiful daughters, Jisselle Leanna and Arianna Nicole whom she cherished. Erica loved dancing, making others laugh with her great sense of humor, shopping for her daughters, and spending time on Facebook communicating with her family and friends. Her family was most important to her and she looked forward to each of their times together. Erica was always put on a pedestal and was loved by all who knew her. She had an infectious smile that was contagious to those around her. She will be greatly missed.

Erica leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Alfonso Vigil Rivera of Hanford, CA; two daughters, Jisselle (6) and Arianna (1 ½) , both of Hanford, CA; her parents, Juan and Maria Gonzalez of Hanford, CA; two brothers, Isaac Gonzalez and wife, Melissa of Solidad, CA and Juan Gonzalez and Christiana Tavares of Hanford, CA; one sister, Denise Gonzalez and Eric Barboza of Hanford, CA and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty Street in Hanford, CA on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 3 – 8 p.m. with the Recitation of Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid Catholic Church of Hanford. There will be a second time of visitation on Monday, November 15, 2010 from 12 – 5 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will be private.
