Thomas Matthew Olson 30 years old, born in Fresno, California on July 22, 1989 passed away on October 6, 2019. Thomas was a Sheepdog who devoted his life to serving and protecting the herd. He served in the United States Marine Corp for 4 years, was a Deputy Sheriff for Kings County, a husband, father, son, brother and mentor to many. He received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration Degree from University of Phoenix in January 2017. Thomas earned 2 Silver Star awards while serving his community as a deputy in Kings County. During his time with the department Thomas received multiple certifications and recognitions in a short time. Thomas was on the SWAT team, Range Master, Drone pilot certified and much more. Thomas loved to ride his dirt bike and teach his son how to ride, he loved to swim and be in nature. Thomas spent most of his days off work at the beach or camping with his wife and son. Thomas loved teaching his son how to ride a pedal bike and would support him in his passion to race his bike at the local BMX track.
Thomas is preceded in death by his grandfather Jay Yoakum and Aunt Carolyn.
Thomas is survived by his 5 year old son and best buddy Jason, wife and best friend Brook, his brothers Kip (fellow marine) and John, his dad Aaron (Kip) and stepmom Carolyn (Corky) Carr, his grandmother Mary Yoakum, aunt Susan Olson, uncle Brian Olson, uncle Steve Olson, stepsisters Kelli Crawford and Kayla Eldson, and cousin Mike Olson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
