

Ann Marie Martin of Norwell for more than 50 years, died after a brief illness at age 79 on Dec. 9. Daughter of the late James and Mary Fleming of Dorchester she graduated in 1950 from Jeremiah E. Burke High School and upon graduation she went to work for the New England Telephone Company as an operator. She later worked as a cashier for Star Market for 30 years. Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years Jack Martin and her children Bob Martin and his wife Nancy of Easton, MD, Paul Martin and Jayne Blasser of Hanover and her daughter Mary Tiedtke and her husband Hans of Hanover. She was the mother of the late John E. Martin Jr. Ann is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Amy Banfill of Sarasota, FL, Allison Martin of Easton, MD, John, Amanda, Emily and Daniel Tiedtke of Hanover and one great granddaughter, Avery Grace Banfill. Ann is survived by her sister Irene Pyer of Dedham and predeceased by her sisters Eleanor Donovan and Muriel Ambrosoli and her brother Robert Fleming. She will be deeply missed by family and many wonderful, close friends. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Sunday from 1-5 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30AM in St. Helen Church, 383 Washington St., Rte 53 in Norwell. Interment in Washington Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
