Barbara Ann Gordon of Pembroke, MA, passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2026, with her family by her side. She was 73. Born in Boston, MA on January 7, 1953, Barbara was the daughter of the late David and Marie (Joyce) Crosby (Gertrude “Trudy” Crosby).
Barbara is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Mark H. Gordon, and their two children, David R. Gordon of Northborough, MA and Kristine (Gordon) Poole of Pembroke, MA. Barbara was Nana to four wonderful grandchildren; David’s children Henry, Charles and Margaret Gordon, and Kristine’s child Victoria Poole. She was the sister of Eileen (Crosby) Litchfield of Raleigh, NC, Patricia (Crosby) LaVancher of Grimsby, TN and David Crosby of Tacoma, WA.
Barbara was an extraordinarily generous and loving person who always put the interests of family and friends before her own. Nothing made her happier than to host a delicious meal for family and friends. She loved to cook and the aroma from her homemade pasta sauce, beef stews, and especially her famous chocolate chip cookies, which she baked scores of every Christmas, made the house smell like home, comforting and inviting.
Barbara stayed home with her two children until they were old enough for her to go back to work, starting a long career at the American Greetings company. Over the course of her 30 years working there she enjoyed her work, but above all, formed lifelong friendships with many of the people she worked with, maintaining those bonds to the day she passed.
In her later years, as health issues progressed, Barbara enjoyed evenings at home playing Scrabble or cards and listening to music with her husband and family. Elvis Presley was her favorite. Her grandchildren were a highlight of her life and she relished every opportunity to spend time with them.
In the end Barbara only wanted the most simple but precious thing to her, to be in the home she had spent a lifetime building, surrounded by her loving family; and she was.
There will never be another like her.
We will all miss you Nana.
Visiting Hours will be held at Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, Hanover MA on Saturday, March 21st from 1PM to 3PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Croí Health in Norwell.
