Carolyn Denison Marshall, a woman whose motto was "there is something good in everyone“ passed away peacefully on December 17th at the Newfield House in Plymouth at the age of 95. Carolyn was born in Boston on January 12, 1928, daughter of Ross Edwin Denison and Olga Dagmar Ihlseng of Belmont, Massachusetts. Carolyn, an avid tennis player, was a lifelong resident of Duxbury where she raised her three children and lived with her devoted husband of 70 years, Henry Newton Marshall II. Their dinner table at 16 Chapel Street was open to all. In 2017 she had to change her daily 4 mile walk with friends around Powder Point to walks around the Allerton house when she and Henry moved to the Village of Duxbury. Henry passed away in 2020 and Carolyn continued to live at the Allerton House until her recent move last month to the Newfield House.
Carolyn is survived by her three children: Henry Newton Marshall III of Barre, Massachusetts; David and Diane Marshall of Yarmouth, Maine; and William and Susan (Marshall) Campbell of West Newbury, Massachusetts. Carolyn and Henry had 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Carolyn was loved by everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
A private memorial is planned for a future date where her extended family can celebrate their shared memories of her wonderful life.
