David J. Blair Jr, 83, of Rockland, died Friday, October 2, 2009 in his home after a brief illness. He was born in Rochester VT on September 6, 1926, the son of the late David J. and Fabrice Martell Blair Sr. He was raised and educated in Williamstown VT and has lived in Rockland since 1958. Prior to his retirement he was employed as an Explosive Technician in the road construction business. He served in the Navy in WWII. Mr. Blair was a member of the American Legion, the DAV and the Laborer's International Union of North American Local #133. He is survived by 1 son, Larry R. Blair of Abington; 1 daughter, Diann P. Kohn of CA; 2 sisters, Peggy Wilkin of South Barre VT and Ann Saliba of Springfield, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. He was the husband of the late Joyce M. Reed Blair. Funeral Service on Wednesday at 11 AM in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St., Rockland. Interment will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
