

David was born and raised in Weymouth where he attended Weymouth Vocational High School. He became a carpenter and would eventually build their family home. He then went into law enforcement and had a lengthy career as a Police officer and retired as the Chief of Police in Norwell.
David married the love of his life, Christina and the two settled in Norwell where they would raise their family. David was a loving husband for 66 years and a devoted father. He was also always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed woodworking, carving, golf and traveling. He loved animals, especially his dog Tyche.
In addition to his wife Christina, he is survived by his children, Darlene Dubanoski and her husband Joseph of Madbury, N.H., Debra Nichols and her fiancé Ricky Rodrigues of Marshfield, David Nichols Jr. of Manchester, N.H., Chester Nichols and his wife Robyn of Whitman and the late Christopher Nichols. He also leaves ten grandchildren Joseph, James, Rachel, Chad, Tina, Tiffany, Justin, Jack, Julianne and Stephanie; he was the brother of Barbara Houghton of Hingham and the late Marjorie Perrine, Evelyn Ayer and Herbert Nichols.
Private services will be held with family.
