Dr. Herman Jean Francois

Dr. Herman Jean Francois succumbed to his battle with cancer surrounded by his children and family. Dr. Herman was born in Petion Ville, Haiti, on March 13, 1971, and died on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 53.

Dr. Herman’s educational journey began in Haiti at the esteemed “Frères de l’ Instruction Chretienne” de Petionville. He then ventured to Boston, MA, where he completed his high school education. His thirst for knowledge led him to the Mass College of Pharmacy (MCPHS), where he earned his Doctorate in Pharmacy. Dr. Herman's career in pharmacy was marked by his unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence. He eventually established a thriving retail pharmacy, “The Florida Shores Pharmacy” in Edgewater, Florida, a testament to his professional success and entrepreneurial spirit.

Dr. Herman's personal life was equally fulfilling with the birth of his first child, a daughter to Woodline Rattray. He was united in marriage with Marie Laure Auguste Francois, and they were blessed with three children. The couple subsequently divorced but remained friends. Dr. Herman cherished his role as a father, and his children will forever remember his love and guidance. 

Dr. Herman was a loving and caring son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and pharmacist. He has touched countless lives, and we will miss his tender spirit and beautiful smile.

In addition to his loving children, he is survived by his mother: Marie Marthe Pierre Louis, late father: Jean Geller François, Sisters: Chantale Scutt, Marlene Gonzalez, Sherly Pierre, Ruth Davilmar Medaius, Tamika Mason François, late sisters: Guerdie François and Betty FrançoisBrothers: Garry François and Bernadin François, In-laws: Pasteur Cotchard Scutt, Maria François, and Esdras Medaius, and countless nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Restoration Church, 871 S. Franklin Street, Holbrook, MA 02343, from 9:30 to 10 a.m., for greetings and refreshments, with a Celebration of Life (Praising the Lord for his love and mercy) at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson, MA.
