

George Anthony Miller, 84 of Halifax formerly of Hyde Park, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 12, 2016. Born on July 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Roy A. and Camille (Lentini) Miller who raised him in Boston. George proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He then married his late wife Dolores A. (Doran) Miller in 1957 and moved to Halifax in 1962. George was employed an as Iron Worker, retired from Shopmen’s Iron Workers Local 501 and in retirement became an accomplished bird carver.George is survived by his children George, Jr. of Plainville, Lauren M. Miller of Hull, Dawn R. Miller of Halifax, and the late Michael F. Miller. Brother of Roy Miller and his wife Vivian of Rockland and the late Robert and Donald Miller. Grandfather of Julianne S., Jared C. and Rory J. Miller. George is also survived by several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 2 Maquan St. Cor. Rte. 14 & 58, Hanson, on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Funeral mass at St. Joseph Parish, 272 Main Street, Kingston, on Friday at 10 AM. Burial to follow with military honors at Central Cemetery in Halifax.
