Jim was born in Boston and was the son of the late James J Christie Sr & Ethel Christie (Pollock) and brother to the late Margaret Michaud of Pembroke.
Jim is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 62 years Joanne (Lawrence) Christie, his two sons James Christie and Robert Christie both of Pembroke. He was lovingly known as Grampy to his grandchildren Tyler Christie and Tori Meschini.
Jim dedicated many years to serving the Town of Pembroke. He began his career with the DPW as a mechanic in 1974 and in 1979 joined the Pembroke Fire Department as a full-time firefighter, advancing to Captain in 2003. He served his community until his retirement in 2007 and continued to serve on the Call Fire Dept until 2013. Jim had a love for classic cars and motorcycles, and in the mid 1980’s began teaching students Auto Body at the Silver Lake Regional High School for many years.
In his spare time, over many years he and his wife Joanne enjoyed yearly trips to their vacation home in Florida. Those trips were not complete without his sidekick and brother-in-law Jerry and sister-in-law Mary.
