Mr. McInnis took me under his wing,first as young Jimmy's friend and his neighbor.He then gave me my first job.He always instilled in me the need for perfection and customer service.He trained me and guided me for many years.I am now 46 and I still live by all that he taught me as a teenager.Trust,pride of work,customer service,leadership,and the ability to communicate with others so that they learn not through demands as some managers do,but by making them want to do good by you.To make you proud of yourself and your own accomplishments.I love him like a father and will miss him dearly.My heartfelt condolences to you Jimmy,Lisa,Donna and Elaine for our loss.You are all special people in my life,as is Jim.

Donna, Lisa, Jim, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your father. The memories I have of growing up together, Donna's birthday parties, and hanging out at your house are some of my most cherished memories. Your Dad and Mom were always able to bridge that generation divide and put a young kid like me at ease with being around parents. Your Dad cared for his kids deeply and I'll never forget the have my daughter back by midnight edict that came from him when I picked up Donna to go to the prom - it had that mix of strict daughter protection and warmth all together. To: Lisa, Donna and Jim, I have not had the pleasure of meeting any of you, but I was a friend of your Dad's at Scituate High School. We were part of a group of classmates that grew up together socializing and playing sports. Several of us got back together at our 50th class reunion this past weekend. Don Allan visited your father and spoke to him about past times before he passed away on Sunday. Our thoughts and prayers our with you at this time of need. The last time I saw your Father was several years ago at a luncheon with a number of old classmates. Your Father was not himself. I think the disease your Father died from was starting to show its effects. We had a lot of crazy experiences growing up. The one I will always remember was the time we saved Don Allan from drowning. We decided to swim across a large pond in Milton. Not a good idea. Working together as a team, we saved him. Your Dad's Boy Scout training helped. Your Dad always looked out for his friends and team mates. Remember the good times and find the strength to move on and live a full life with great memories of your Dad. We were so saddened when we read about your father's death in the Mariner, Thursday evening. He was such a great guy and fun to be around. It was our privilege to have known him and he will surely be missed. God Bless all of you

I was so sad to see that Jim passed away when I read the Mariner today08/14 and so sorry I was unable to make the services. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I will visit him later when I go to see my Dad which I still do daily. They are together now in a beautiful place above.

Jim will be missed by many. He was a true, good friend and I am honored to have known him and to have shared so many pleasant moments with him. I remember our times with Pop Warner, Penn State weekends, rounds of golf, trips to Florida, Europe and Hilton Head, and hoisting a few at our favorite watering hole. Goodbye my friend.

You're in our thoughts and prayers. It must be so difficult to lose your best friend. Your dad was very lucky to have such a great daughter!

To Jim's Children, Sharon and I were so sorry to learn when we went to visit your Dad on our way home from our Jim's & Mine 50th SHS reunion yesterday that he had passed away. It was a shock for us, after seeing him last Friday. We are so glad that we got to spend two hours with him then. At the reunion, his SHS'58 classmates were asking about him and he was in our thoughts during the 3-day festivities. Many were planning to visit him in the next few weeks and I have been contacting them to let them know what happened. You Lisa, Donna and Jim should feel good about the time that you had with him during his final illness and how well you cared for him. On Friday, I could tell how proud he was of the three of you and the comfort that he felt with all of you being there with him. Lisa, his primary caregiver, spoke about the way he was there for the three of you when you were growing up and how you were glad that you were able to help him during his time of need. You should derive a lot of comfort knowing that in his final days he knew that his three children were there for him. Lisa, thank you so much for sharing with us the pictures of Jim and his family taken 6 weeks ago. It reminds me of how much family meant to your Dad. He was always concerned and caring about his three sisters when I was really close to him in the 50's. In many ways he seemed more like a parent to them than a brother. I can tell from the way that you spoke of him that he never lost that and showed the same concern/caring for his children. He was also a good friend to many of his SHS schoolmates and it was always a lot of fun to be with him, whether we were at a party, in school or on a sports team. I felt so good being close to him again last Friday, sharing with him the wonderful days that we had in the the 50's. Our shoolmates and I will long remember our times with him.

We will never forget Jim's kindness in providing shelter and comfort to our family and to so many others during the great blizzard of '78. Surely he now resides with the angels and remains ever closer to God. We express our deep appreciation to Jim and to all the McInnis family for the kindness you have shown to all.
