James Francis "Sully" Sullivan, Jr., was a lifelong resident of Hanson, MA who valiantly lost his battle with addiction on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the young age of 44 with his family by his side. He was born on March 16, 1971.
He is survived by his longtime sweetheart Teri Hennessey, daughter Jennifer Brescia, son-in-law Adam Gibilaro and his precious granddaughters Audrey Rose and Natalie Mae. Jim was the son of James Sullivan, Sr. and Phyllis Koutoudakis. Brother of Dena and Tom, Joy and Shira Hurlebaus, Marlisa and Ron Jones, Evelyn and Alaina, Danny, Jenny, Heidi Rose and Martin Sullivan. Nancy and Bob Bows, Bob and Mary Hennessey, Carol and Tom Smith, Patty and Mike Hill. He also leaves behind Lois Fagan and family, his boys, Spinny, Doyle, Staska, Dan H. Connolley, and Ed, and many more friends....and his cat Fuzz.
Jim fought very hard for the last year, with his addiction to heroin disease. We will sadly miss his huge infectious smile, smiley blue eyes, upbeat personality, and his huge hugs.
Jim lit up the room wherever he went. He was the most kind, caring, hardworking and generous person you'd ever meet. He would do anything for anyone, and ask for nothing in return.
As a child, Jim would collect golf balls at the Pembroke Country Club and sell them back to the golfers so he could help support his family. He purchased groceries, a microwave for his mother, a watch for his father, and toys for his brother and sisters.
Jim was a proud and loyal member of Local 17 in Dorchester. He worked very hard and loyally for XYZ Sheet Metal of Abington.
Jim proudly earned his GED six years ago and was proud to be a family member of Local 17. He will forever be grateful to his brother Danny for all his help getting him into the union.
Jim will be remembered for his beautiful free spirit, honesty, loyalty, huge laughs and big personality.
Not a day will pass when we don't think of Jimmy. Today we lost a soul mate, son, brother, uncle, a loving papa and loyal loving friend. His spirit will live on until we meet again.
Today, Heaven gained a wonderful man, but we will spend the rest of our lives wishing he didn't have to go so soon. We love you and miss you immensely. Gone, but never forgotten.
