
John Joseph Jack Dwyer, 75, of Hanover passed away peacefully at home on August 1, 2011. Loving husband of Theresa A. Martin Dwyer. Devoted father of Kevin F. Dwyer and his partner Alvaro Carrasco of Oakland, CA; Ellen M. Dwyer L'Italien and her husband Paul of Pembroke; Julie A. Dwyer Dychkewich and her husband Peter of Washington, DC; and Anne M. Dwyer Richardson and her husband Michael of Rockland. Proud grandfather of five grandchildren: Emma, Sean and Sarah L'Italien of Pembroke, as well as Mae and Samuel Richardson of Rockland. Brother of Marie Dwyer Crawford of East Weymouth. Son of the late John J. Dwyer, Sr. and Margaret M. Jordan Dwyer formerly of East Weymouth. Also survived by a number of nephews. Jack is a 1954 Graduate of Weymouth High School. In 1955, he enlisted in the US Army, serving with the 94th Infantry Division. He remained active with the Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1965. In 1961 he was certified by the New England School for Investigators, preparing him for his early career as a private investigator. He was employed with Management Consultants and later with National Fire Protection Association, from which he retired in 1998. He subsequently worked part time for Ingles Transportation. He is a former member of the Military Police Regimental Association, the New England Police Photographers Association, the American Society for Industrial Security and the American Society of Notaries. His family will remember him for his love and willingness to sacrifice his own needs to ensure that those of his family were met. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in Hanover on Thursday from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St., Rte 139 in Hanover. Interment in Hanover Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 120 Longwater Dr., Norwell MA 02061.
