

John "Jack" L. Fraser, 85 of Hanover, passed away at home with his family on December 16, 2017. Born on December 28, 1931 to James and Mary (McKinnon) Fraser, he grew up in Dorchester and later resided in Hanover for over 50 years. Jack proudly served in the Marine's from 1948-1950 before joining the Air Force from 1952-1956 during the Korean War. He worked at Harvard University's Widener Library as Head of Photographic Dept. for 35 years, retiring in 1992. Jack was also an avid hockey fan.
Jack was the beloved husband to the late Joan M. (Reardon) Fraser for 62 years. Father to Debbie A. (Fraser) Palumbo of Pembroke and James A. Fraser of Hanover. Brother to Margaret Preston and her husband Patrick of Braintree and Irene Fallon of Marshfield. Brother-in-law to Kevin Reardon and his wife Dianne of SC. Grandfather to Danielle Armstrong and husband Mike and Steve Palumbo, Jr. and his wife Country, all of Whitman. Great-grandfather of Ava, Isabelle, Steve III and Michael. Cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, Hanover, on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Funeral mass at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St. Rte. 139, Hanover on Thursday at 9 AM. Burial to follow in Hanover Center Cemetery.
