

Joe was born and raised in New Bedford, MA, where he attended New Bedford High School. He went on to attend Babson College where he earned his bachelor's degree. Joe started his career in public accounting, where he earned his CPA. He continued to work in the financial industry throughout his career. Joe was a national sales manager for Manulife Financial when he retired. In 1977 he married the love of his life, Judy Silbert, and they settled in Hanover to raise their family.
Joe possessed a tremendous work ethic and was dedicated to his career. He always retained a positive outlook on life, even after being diagnosed with Parkinson's. He was a wonderful conversationalist and enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. Joe was loyal, kind, trustworthy, and generous. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Joe was the beloved husband of (Judy Silbert) Harding. Respected and admired father of Michael Harding and wife Kristen, of Easton, MA and David Harding and wife Alli, of Portsmouth, NH. Loving brother of Fran Harding and wife Alison, of Carlsbad, CA and the late Mark Harding of New Bedford. Adored grandfather of Charlie, Andy, Brendan, and Ted. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 20th from 12:00PM-3:00PM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanover, 551 Washington St., Hanover, MA. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21st at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Church, 392 Hanover St., Hanover, MA. Interment at Hanover Cemetery.
