Joseph Moran

Born on February 15, 1951 to the late Joseph Moran, Sr. and Anna (Kelly) Moran. Joe was raised in Dorchester. He graduated from Massasoit Community College while working for the New England Telephone Company (now known as Verizon) for forty years as a dedicated lineman from age seventeen until his retirement. Beyond his dedication to his work, Joe was devoted to his family and friends.

Joe was the beloved husband of Kathleen T. (Finigan) Moran for forty-one years with whom he shared a beautiful life and family. He was father to Meghan Piccinin of Plymouth and her husband Ryan, Bobby Moran of Whitman and his fiancé Ashley, Kaitlin D’Arcy of Hanover and her husband Tom, and Shannon Laura of Hanson and her husband Justin.

He was a proud and loving “Papa” to his grandchildren Addy and Maggie D’Arcy of Hanover, James and John Piccinin of Plymouth, Nina and Danny Moran of Whitman, and Logan Laura of Hanson.

Joe was also the dear brother of the late Ann (Moran) Feeney of Weymouth and her husband Jack, and loving uncle to Melissa (Feeney) Drohan of Pembroke.

Joe had a deep love for his family and enjoyed every moment spent together. He delighted in parades, holidays, and cookouts, finding joy in every family celebration. One of his favorite places was White Horse Beach, where he cherished time spent at his home surrounded by friends and family, creating countless happy memories along the shore.

Joe’s legacy is one of love, warmth, and dedication to family, and his memory will be treasured by all who knew him. 

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 16th from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanover - 551 Washington St., Rt. 53.
