

Joseph was the loving father of Shauna Mackenzie of Bourne, MA, Amy Prostran of Rockland, MA and Joseph O’Neill of Quincy, MA. He will be remembered as a cherished grandfather to Nicholas Mackenzie, Jamie Massa, Maxwell Prostran and Luka Prostran. Joseph is survived by his sisters Peggy Ywoskus, Mary Williams, Diane Morrissey, Elaine Richmond, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Born on December 17, 1945 in Boston, Massachusetts, he was a proud graduate of South Boston High School, Class of 1964, where he met and would eventually marry the love of his life, Patricia Klotz. Together they raised a beautiful family in Hanson, Massachusetts.
In his professional career Joseph was a pioneer in specialty seafood logistics. In 1969 he founded Peninsula of Boston which innovated the handling and transportation of wholesale seafood products on the East Coast and around the world.
Joseph's legacy is one of love, laughter, kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family. He adored his children and grandchildren and always had a story or a joke to share. After retiring from a fulfilling and successful career in 2016, he enjoyed spending time at his Cape Cod home in Falmouth, MA with family and friends.
Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 45 East Water St, Rockland, on Thursday, September 25th from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St, Rockland, on Friday at 11am. Burial to follow at Hanover Center Cemetery.
