Sally C. Murphy

Sally C. (Fitzgerald) Murphy, passed away peacefully with her children by her side of Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at South Shore Hospital. Daughter of the late Pierce and Eleanor Fitzgerald, she was born on July 8, 1932 in Cambridge. Raised in Weymouth, she moved to Hanover where she resided for the rest of her life. She was a kindergarten teacher in Hanover and managed “Scotts News” in Hanover for seventeen years. She was an avid knitter and loved crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Her greatest love in life were her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren.

Sally was predeceased by her husband John "Jack" William Murphy and brother Gerald Fitzgerald. She is survived by her 3 children, Donald G. Janson, Beth E. Brown and Kurt M. Janson; 2 grandchildren, John W. Brown and fiancé Leah Barton and Candice Parfido; and 3 great grandchildren, John W. Brown, Jr., Audrey and Nathan Porfido. Sally is also survived by sisters Susan Tirrell and Beth Fitzgerald.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St. Rte. 139, Hanover, on Friday, February 24th at 9 AM. Burial to follow at Hanover Center Cemetery.
