Suzanne is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard Stevens Jr., originally from Weymouth. She is also survived by her three daughters, Heather and her husband Tim of Pembroke and their four children Patrick, Madeline, Corinne, and Maeve, Rebecca and her husband Steven of Plymouth, and Meaghan and her husband Rick of Virginia and their two children Dunnaven and Teagan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly.
In 1963, Suzanne graduated from Archbishop Williams High School, Braintree, where she met her husband Dick. She also graduated Saint Elizabeth’s Nursing School in 1966 and worked as a Registered Nurse, serving her community lovingly and with the utmost professionalism for 45 years.
She married Dick in 1967 and they were married for 53 years, lovingly raising three daughters who were their whole world, and working hard for what they had.
Suzanne was a kind and simple soul who wanted nothing more than to be a wife, mom, and grandmother. She loved her family with every ounce of her heart and her constant positivity and never-ending smile and warmth were infectious to all who knew her. She married into Dick’s family where there were 8 siblings and she was Auntie Sue then and now for all the younger kids, then their kids too. She was so very loved by everyone in our very large family! She also had many friends who she always took the time to check in with and keep her friendships strong. She took care of everyone before herself and was the first person in line for anyone who needed help or a hug. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, ever. She was this way her entire life, it was an unwavering quality.
Suzanne loved to be a part of her community, and she was always the funny lady at all the town events dressed up in costume for every holiday. She was on the pages of the Hanover Mariner probably a half a dozen times and she was known widely for her celebratory spirit. She was an avid bird lover, gardener, reader, and cooked a mean spaghetti sauce. She was also the biggest New England Patriots fan around and watched all the games, often having to leave the room because she couldn’t take the nail biters! She loved the beach and went and swam in the cool waters every chance she got. She and Dick did much traveling over the years with friends and family to the Caribbean and she relished every trip. We could hardly get her out of the water, she would swim for hours.
Suzanne was a special soul who will be sorely missed. She was a quietly devout woman and we know she is with God now. She is at rest with Him. We will love and miss you Mom, every day of our lives until we meet again Suzie Q… 2-4-3.
