Virginia A. Fitzgerald, 83 of Halifax and formerly South Boston, passed away on June 19, 2013. Born on September 18, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Emily Duffy Carpenter. Raised and educated in South Boston, she attended St. Augustine High School. Virginia enjoyed painting and gardening, always had a good joke to say, and loved spending time with her family. Virginia was the wife of the late Robert E. Fitzgerald. Loving mother of Ann Fitzgerald of Bridgewater, Kathleen Fitzgerald of Lowell, Steven Fitzgerald of Florida, and the late Robert Fitzgerald. Dear sister of Kathleen Kenney of South Boston. Cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St. at the corner Rte of 14&58 in HANSON, Monday 10-12PM, followed by a graveside service at Central Cemetery in Halifax.
