

William Edward Dixon, 92 of Rockland, passed away on March 6, 2016. Born in New Bern, NC on August 2, 1923, he was the son of the late Ephraim and Mary (Ireland) Dixon. He was employed as a dental technician and proudly served our country in the Navy during the WWII. He loved all Boston sports teams (Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Bruins), as well as Carolina sports teams. He was an avid reader but most of all, William loved spending time with his family.
William was the beloved husband of the late Gloria E. (Flanders) Dixon. Devoted father of Susan E. Traficante and her late husband Peter, Jr. Dear brother of the late Lewis V. Dixon and is survived by his sister-in-law Doris Currie of Quincy and many nieces and nephews. Cherished grandfather Robert Powers and his wife Julie of Rockland, Scott Erlandson and his wife Christina of AZ; great-grandfather of Alexander, Kaitlynd, Tyler, Austin, Cheyenne, Shelby, Avah, and William.
Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 45 East Water St, ROCKLAND, on Monday the 14th from 10-12 PM followed by a funeral home service at 12 PM. Burial with military honors at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:30 PM.
