Dear Mark, Sarah, and all of Betsy's family and friends,
            Manny and I met Betsy in the late 1970's at Sharyn and Moe's house.   She radiated warmth and goodness.  We were always so happy to see her at family events over the years.   She was beautiful on the outside and the inside.   You could feel her goodness when you spoke to her.   We are so sorry for your loss, and hope that good memories comfort you in this sad time.

My heart breaks for your loss.  My heart also breaks for everyone lucky enough to have had Betsy in their lives.  I was fortunate to be her aide at South Side and experience her wisdom and compassion everyday at school.  She taught me just as much as her students.  She faced these last months with the same strength, grace, and dignity that marked her life.  I cherish the friendship we had and I will miss her terribly.  My thoughts are with you and may you find peace in the memories and love you shared.

Betz and I have been friends since we started school.  We have shared so much of life together, the joys and sorrows and the ordinary events of our days.  She led us through these last 7 months with great grace, dignity, and fortitude.  While its hard to let go, I will keep a part of her with me always.  You are in my prayers in the days ahead for comfort and peace.

Mark and family. So sorry I am not able to be with you during this time .You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Please know that the times shared with Betsy in High School and beyond provide memories of a fun loving, giving and talented beautiful friend.  I will so miss our times together. Betsy was adored by her students, respected and loved by her peers. She was always a resource for me on how we could accomplish goals for our ESL students. Betsy  loved her family and lived her life in the moment sharing her love, her strengths, and her wisdom. She let love flow through her to others.

Brave, incredibly brave.  Despite a terminal illness, Betsy continued to live life everyday with dignity and admiration.  Providing protection as a mother, daughter and wife to her family to the very end.  For me, as for many, it was a privilege to have Betsy be part of my life.  We will miss her dearly.

Dear Kelly Family, I am so saddened and sorry for your loss. Betsy’s presence filled the halls of North Side for many of the years I worked there.  More importantly her guidance of her students made such a difference in their lives. She touched so many with her gentle kindness and ability to help them learn. She could also transform gentle kindness into sternness if needed. During a particularly difficult year for me, I would see her helping in the back of my classroom and know it would be okay. There was never a moment I didn’t enjoy being around her. We often shared stories about our kids growing up. She was such a lovely person.

I first met Betsy in 1982. I was a junior in college and she was a new teacher. She allowed me to observe in her classroom as a student teacher. Eventually, I came to work along side her in Central Dauphin in many different capacities for the past 30+ years. I was always impressed with her warm concern for her students and her welcoming nature. She was a woman with whom all would be honored to have in their life.   Blessings to all. 

I’ve known the Kelly family as a friend since 1996.   Betsy was truly one of a kind.  She always had compassion, comedy, excellent advice, welcomed you into her home and stuck by your side.  When times were bad she was always there.   When times were good she would be the first to congratulate you or celebrate!  I wish there was more like you, Betsy!  I will miss you my friend❤️

I will always remember those early morning talks that Betsy and I used to have about better ways to serve our kids.  We both got to school early, so we had time to talk shop. She was all about using best practices to help her students achieve. She will be missed.

Betsy always had a smile to share and a kind thought for everyone. She was a warm, generous woman who livened up a room with her heart and soul. Her bubbly personality was always a treat at family events and holidays.  Betsy will be missed by many and honored forever. 
 

Betsy mentored me in my first English as a Second Language (ESL) position at Paxtang Elementary School in the Central Dauphin School District. She was a kind, friendly, and especially a patient person. We talked on and on about our students and our own children. The world will truly miss her beautiful presence.
