Betty Eshenour (92) of Mechanicsburg born in Steelton passed away peacefully on January 20, 2013. Graduate of Steelton High School and retired auditor for Health and Welfare, she used God's given gifts serving others with tenderness and compassion including feeding the needy and visiting shut-ins.
Betty is survived by a son Terry R. Eshenour (Connie) Atlanta, granddaughters Gretchen E. Buchanan (Mark) and Heather E. Rangel (Roger), six great grandchildren - Madison, Joshua, Timothy, Tanner, Hudson, and Hadlie, her sister Joan V. Glasmire (Edgar) and eight nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Ray B. Eshenour, parents Markwood and Emma Kohlhaas Vanatta, brother Kenneth E. Vanatta (Helen), sister-in-law Martha E. Taylor (James), and companion Joseph Stickle.
Services will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 39 N. 2nd St., Steelton, PA 17113 at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Burial will be in Paxtang Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be given to Messiah Lifeways Benevolent Fund or St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
