Mrs. Dolores A. Hilton

Dolores A. Hilton, age 82, of Harrisburg died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Holy Spirit Hospital.

Born November 6, 1930 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Theodore T. Chronister and Armenia M. (Russ) Chronister of Harrisburg.

Dolores attended Allison Hill Elementary School, Edison Jr. High School and graduated from John Harris High School in 1948. She was a member of Saint Catherine Laboure Parish of Harrisburg.

After graduation she entered the workforce as a telephone operator for Pennsylvania Power and Light, a sales clerk for Nationwide Insurance, and then retired after a long career as a receptionist with AMP incorporated.

Her influence on her family was wide spread, encompassing four generations. She enjoyed traditional family and holiday dinners. Dolores made sure no one went hungry and she always packed leftovers for home. She attended numerous children, grandchildren and great grandchildren events whenever possible, as they were her most cherished blessings.

Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Frank K. Hilton, and her sister Christine Mulholland. She is survived by her brother Theodore S. Chronister, along with 2 sons, Michael F. Hilton and wife Maryann of Bratenahl, Ohio, Edward J. Hilton and wife Dorothy of Mechanicsburg, and five grand children, Kristi (Hilton) Bedford of Bethlehem, Jacqueline A. Hilton, Lindsey A. Hilton, Katherine A. Hilton, Edward J. Hilton IV of Mechanicsburg, 3 great grand children, Aidan Bedford, Michael Bedford, and Addison Bedford of Bethlehem.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Neil Sullivan in Saint Catherine Laboure Church, Harrisburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013. The family will greet friends in Saint Catherine Laboure Church from 10 a.m. to 11. a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Catherine Laboure Parish, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
