

Frank DiNatale Jr., 78, of Harrisburg, died peacefully on October 9, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the youngest son of the late Frank and Ignazina DiNatale, and preceded in death by his three brothers, Carlo, Anthony and Salvatore DiNatale; and two sisters, Rose Beatty and Frances Whiteford.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 56 years, Doris DiNatale, and their five children, Frank (Janet) DiNatale lll, Anthony (Antoinette) DiNatale, Dori (Ronald) Hiester, Mary (Von) Hess and Rose (Mark) Nicotera. Also surviving are his three sisters, Mary Mirilli, of Hershey, Lena Venafro, of Knoxville, TN and Angie Christmas, of Camp Hill; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Frank was always hardworking and devoted to his family. He attended John Harris High School in Harrisburg and began working at the railroad at age 16 to help his mother and father financially. He was employed by TRW/Chromaloly for over 40 years until his retirement in 1995.
Frank was known and admired by so many and had friends wherever he went. He was a committed member of St. Catherine Laboure Parish and frequently attended mass at other area Catholic churches. Frank was a long time member of the YMCA since 1946, winning numerous singles and doubles handball championships during the 1960’s until 1972. In his youth he was also an undefeated amateur boxer. Throughout his rich life, he enjoyed cooking and gardening, staying fit and playing his Italian music at home for all of his neighbors to hear. He could often be seen jogging along riverfront or sunning himself in his yard. He cherished time with his beloved family and friends and knew that he was abundantly blessed. His love for the Lord allowed him to appreciate life to the fullest.
Family will receive family and friends at St. Catherine Laboure Parish, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
