Freda J. Giovanis

Freda J. Giovanis, 95, of Harrisburg, passed away May 6, 2021 surrounded by loved ones at home to be in the arms of her God and to be with the love of her life, her husband, John G. Giovanis who passed away in 2001. Freda was born on December 12, 1925 to her parents John and Lillian Sempeles, in Winchester, Virginia. Freda has two sisters, Cia Gretes and Helen Jonson. Four brothers, Bill, Demo, George and Nick Sempeles. Bill and Nick preceded Freda in death.

Freda Giovanis was a 1944 graduate of John Handley High School, in Winchester, VA. Freda and John Giovanis were married June 23, 1946 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Harrisburg, PA. They were married for 55 years. Freda Giovanis is survived by her three children, George, Ted and Donna and her daughter-in-law, Joan Giovanis. Freda has two grandsons, John and Chris. John and his wife Ashlee live in Pittsburgh. Chris and his wife Kate live in York. Freda has four lovely great grandchildren.

Freda was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Camp Hill and The Saint Catherine Philoptohos Society.

On Tuesday, May 11, 2021 Services will be held at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1000 Yverdon Dr., Camp Hill. Viewing is at 10:00 AM followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the East Harrisburg Cemetery, Penbrook.
