He was born to the late Ola Mae Williams Alston and Percy Edward Alston, Sr. raised in Henderson, NC.
He graduated from Vance Senior High School in 1988, he joined the Army in 1989 and was a veteran of Desert Storm. He worked in Polk Youth Center for many years as a Correction Officer and most recently worked maintenance for American Home Medical Equipment Company.
He is preceded in death by two sisters Virgena Hargrove, Colleen Allen, and one brother Eric Maurice Williams.
He is survived by his wife Karla Alston, his children Maya and Gerald, Jr. and his children by marriage Xavier, Kasandra and Cristian Hagler. He is also survived by his godmother; Blanche Harris, three aunts, Maddie W. Alston, Rebecca Williams and Maggie Perry. An uncle William Alston, his five brothers Ethirling Alston, Durham,NC, Percy Alston, JR, Eugene(Evelyn) Alston, Christopher Williams, Henderson,NC and Rufus K.(Tameka) Williams, Greensboro,NC. As well as two sis sisters Linda Alston, Durham,NC and Carol(Bryan) Simmons,Henderson,NC along with a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends that were all dear to his heart.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, February 7, 2020, at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020, from 6:00-8:00 pm, in the funeral home, and on Friday, 10:00 am, until the time of the funeral service, in the funeral home. Burial; with full military honors, will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, following the service.
