Gertrude Zink

She was born July 28, 1925 in Ottenhoefen, Germany. She and her husband, Otto, came to the US and settled in the Harrisburg area in 1957. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May.

Gertie, an excellent homemaker, enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking vacations with her family.

In addition to her loving husband, Gertie is survived by a daughter Heidi (Gary) Garber of Harrisburg, and son Rick (Marion) Zink of Middletown, 6 grandchildren Gina Spitler, Lisa Campbell, Sarah Rowe, Shanen Garber, Judy Rife, Zantha Zink, 5 great-grandchildren, one surviving brother Herbert Kaeshammer and sister Mathilda Struebel in Germany, Helga Walker and Herbert (Bonnie) Zink of Mechanicsburg, and several nieces and nephews.

Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug 15, 2013, at Living Water Community Church, 206 Oakleigh Ave, Harrisburg with Pastor Mike Leonzo officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at 10am, followed by the funeral service at 11am. Burial is at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
