He was born April 17, 1948 in Lebanon; he was the son of the late Louis H. and Bertha M. (Slike) Burke Sr.; and preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal L. Burke.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Diana M. Burke; daughter, Kelly A. Gerena (Devon); stepdaughter, Rebecca Foster (Corey); stepson, Ronald Speelman Jr. (Rita); 2 grandchildren, Tasia Becker and Rashaan Bennett; 4 step grandchildren, Curtis Foster, Mackenzie Foster, Grace Foster and Samantha Schreiner; two brothers, Louis H. Burke Jr. (Marion) and Robert T. Burke (Ronda); and sister, Doris L. Wartluft (Ken).
Jim retired from the City of Lebanon, a former Fireman at Bethlehem Steel Corp., Lebanon, a Security Supervisor for Hershey Entertainment and Resort, after his retirement he worked for Target and he was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
