Jean Sanford went to be with her Lord and Savior November 21, 2019. She grew up in Lewis Town Valley, PA and was the oldest of six children of Homer and Katherine Boyer. She attended Bryn Mawr in Atlanta, Georgia. While she was training there, she met and fell in love with a wounded soldier named Luther Sanford. After she finished her training school, she and Luther got married and moved to Harrisburg, PA where she spent her whole career working as a Psychiatric nurse at Harrisburg State Hospital. She attended Harrisburg First church of the Nazarene where she played the piano for the church. She was also on the board, was the president of the missionary society and a teacher for a number of different classes. She had and raised two boys, Mark and Rodney Sanford and had a huge spiritual impact in their lives. After retirement she moved out to the West coast to be with her surviving son Mark. On Wednesday November 27th there will be a viewing at Neill Funeral Home at 3501 Derrry Street in Harrisburg, PA. It will start at 1:00 pm and will be folllowed by a service that begins at 2:00 pm.
