Born in Pottsville, Kathy was the daughter of Anne Feinauer and the late Joseph G. O'Brien; and sister to Thomas O'Brien, Patti Strauber, Muffet McGraw (Matt), Joseph C O'Brien (Joanne), Michael O'Brien (Judy), and Peg Schiavoni (Joe).
Kathy was predeceased by her loving husband of 29 years, Brian John Derr, who passed in 2001, and her brother, John G. O'Brien.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Christine O'Malley (Tom); her son, Timothy Derr (Bridget); her stepson, Brian Derr Jr. (Jenn); her mother, Anne (Feinauer) O'Brien; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kathy was a retired employee of PSECU, with 31 years of service.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her kindness and compassion will be remembered fondly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon, Monday, November 24, 2025, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg and 10:00 AM Monday until the time of the service at the church.
