Laverne Anna Colquitt

LaVerne Anna (Hoover, Etzweiler) Colquitt, 97, passed away peacefully October 5, 2025, at Transitions Healthcare Allen's Cove, Duncannon, PA. Born August 4, 1928, in Wiconisco, PA, LaVerne was the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie (Zimmerman) Hoover. She was a 1946 graduate of Wiconisco High School and worked as a computer data recorder operator for Blue Shield and Penndot in Harrisburg. LaVerne enjoyed living many years in Cape Coral, Florida, where she was in charge of printing the Navy Seabee's Newsletter before moving back to Pennsylvania. She also enjoyed playing Honky Tonk music on her piano and keyboard, doing computer jigsaw puzzles, and playing Dominos with her friends.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Colquitt, her daughter, Diane (Etzweiler) Clouser, her son, David Etzweiler, and her eleven siblings. She is survived by two sons, Dale (Diane) Etzweiler of Carsonville, and Kevin Yeager, Sr.; her nine grandchildren, Lori Hyser, Ashley Bowman, Mike, Stephen, & Megan Etzweiler, Sheena Mace, Kevin, Jr., Brandon, and Rachelle Yeager, and sixteen great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
