To the Stepp family;

My name is Gina Calamia, I went to St. Catherine's Laboure school back in the late 60's. early 70's with Mike, and alot of us back then knew Mike. He was kind and somewhat shy.
So fast forward, 49 years. I was at the legion back in January and someone called out me, and said "Do you know me?" I said No..
Well, low and behold it was Mike. He knew me, it was 49 years, but he reached out to me and we talked about our school days and what we are doing now. He did say he married an Italian girl and I said- Good Choice!!
So you see, he never snubbed anyone. He was kind and thoughtful. I was crying when I saw his passing on the news.
Yes, he was a school mate of mine, it doesn't matter what age we are.... But its how we remember those people in our lives that are caring and do so much for others.

With Heartfelt sympathy,
Gina Calamia and my brother Carlo( he played Legion ball)

Dear Karen,
I am at a loss for words with the passing of Mike. When I was told, I just couldn't believe it. I remember when we used to go to the games when we were in high school and going to the shore as well. You made such a beautiful couple. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Much love to you and your family.

My condolences to the entire Stepp family on the loss of a special son, brother, husband, father, grandfather. He was also a valued friend, coach, and mentor to many. I knew Itch for over 20 years starting at our quarterly holdem games. He had a lot of laughs at some of my epic misreads at the table. I was fortunate to share a few beers with him just a few weeks ago. His family and his players were always a topic of discussion and pride when we would meetup. I will miss him a great deal. I hope he finds a seat at the table in heaven w AJ and Harvey. RIP my brother.

Prayers for comfort for all of you. As a fellow coach at East ( lax) , it was easy to tell Mike's passion for his teams. Under him, softball became a year-round sport. I'd always see Mike with players working outside or inside. His dedication to his girls will be hard to replace.

My Idol Mike,

You were more than a Cousin to me I looked up to you like an older brother. I don't know where to begin, you are the reason I have been involved with the East Shore Twilight Baseball League for the past 40 years. We shared a love for baseball and as I am, so many from the league are shocked to hear of your passing. All have said what a class act you are, you are one of a kind and will forever be missed.

I will always remember you and be thankful for all the wonderful memories that we shared.

Rest in Peace my friend!!

To your beautiful and amazing family I send my condolences, prayers and love to you all!!
Our loss is now heavens new angel!

I love you Mike, your cousin

I can t express enough the sorrow I feel over the loss of ur Son,brother, uncle, Mike. I met Itch thru being the manger of Lawnton Legion for 18 yrs. He would come in for ice for the girls practice, also the sub sales he would have for fundraisers, which he always did well. Their was always good fun conversation with him, his brother Donnie and good friend Doug Dale. He will always be remembered as a good honest man who loved his girls at CD East, family and friends. We loved baseball season him being a Red Sox fan and me a Yankees fan. You will be sorely missed my friend. RIP ITCH
