She was born April 22, 1933 in Harrisburg to the late Thomas A. and Frances (Snyder) Eck.
She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Parish, where she served as an Extra Ordinary Eucharistic Minister for 20 years. She was a faithful wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother. In her early years, she was an avid bowler, served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, as well as serving as President of the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, John E. Scarangella, two daughters Maria F. Ferretti of Harrisburg and Angela L. Eshleman of York, four grandchildren, Sarah and Logan Ferretti and Cory and Erin Eshleman, and one great-grandchild, Charles David Mione. She was preceded in death by her sister Lorraine Musser.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 8th from 7 –9 p.m. at Neill Funeral Home, Derry Street, Harrisburg.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 9th at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine Laboure Church, with The Very Reverend Neil S. Sullivan, V.F., celebrant. Burial will be at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
