Richard E. Davis Sr., 79, of Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Harrisburg Hospital. He was born October 18, 1937 in Lancaster, PA; he was the son of the late Norman and Thelma (Wickline) Davis; and preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Davis. Surviving is a son, Richard E. Davis Jr.; 3 daughters, Kimberli Saldana, Carrie Flores and Heather Miller; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Richard retired from American Steel and Aluminum, served in the U.S. Army, and was an avid weightlifter. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 24, 2017 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be at Mellinger's Mennonite Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PAWS, P.O. Box 855, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
