She was the wife and widow of Elbert Hopkins Rose, Jr. of Carlisle, PA. She worked at the Department of Labor & Industry for many years and during her retirement, she enjoyed holding yard sales, doing demos, reading true crime novels, and winning at bingo. She also loved Native American culture, Elvis Presley, and root beer soda. She was a devout Catholic who never gave up on God and an active Legion of Mary member throughout much of her life. Rosemarie is survived by her seven daughters, Barbara Kim Weikle of Harrisburg, Deborah Lee Rose of Shermansdale, Roseann Fries and her husband Chris of Harrisburg, Cecilia Marie Mitch of Marysville, Marie Ann Roukas and her husband Pete of Norfolk, Virginia, June Louise Rose of Hellertown, and Mary Jean Lucas and her husband Neal of Harrisburg. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is also survived by her cousins Rita Berkebile, Alice Hurley, and John Soule, all three of whom she considered as her siblings. Rose, as she was known to many, was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, mother-in-law, and friend to all who had the good fortune to know her. She will be remembered for her faith in God, her desire to help those in need, and her child-like outlook on life. Relatives, friends, and those who knew her are invited to a visitation on Wednesday morning, August 26 beginning at 10:00am to be followed by a funeral mass at 11:00am, and a repast to follow for those who wish to share and reminisce. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 280 N. Race Street, Middletown, PA 17057, and her family would like to especially thank all of the dedicated nurses and staff at Hospice of Central Pennsylvania for all of their help, love, and support throughout the past several months. -
