Those who knew Shawn will remember her kind hearted nature, gentle soul, artistic talent, passion for music, and love for anime and Harry Potter. She enjoyed science fiction and fantasy, which allowed her an escape from a world that could be cruel and damaging at times, particularly when suffering from anxiety and severe depression. While it is with great despair that we say goodbye, Shawn will now be at peace.
In addition to her parents, Shawn is also survived by her step-father, Chip Bieber; siblings, Katie Stover, Wesley Stover, William Stover, Jenna Bieber and Skate Stahl; her grandparents, John Shatto, Kathy & Don Kinderman and Darlene & Charles Bieber; her aunts, Elizabeth Hoffman, Jamie Ebur, Karen Hutchison and Angela Lese; her uncles, Joshua Shatto, Elwood Hoffman, Joel Hutchison and James Lese. She is also survived by her adoring cousins and many loving extended family members.
Shawn was a graduate of Red Land High school where she was also in the Red Land Marching Band. She attended HACC and Penn State, studying science as a major. She was an employee at Amazon, much to her chagrin, as she made it very clear she’d much rather have been rich and not have to work. Shawn’s truest legacy would not be her academics or work; however, it would be the love that lives on because of her.
Shawn also reminds us that life and gentle hearts can be fragile and cannot always stay. As Dumbledore would say, “Do not pity the dead. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love.”
A visitation will be held 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by the Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will follow in the Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin.
