Shirley was born in Pottstown, PA, the daughter of the late Harold and Alma Rinewalt.
She graduated from Pottstown High School and then went on to earn her RN degree from Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing and her BSN from Messiah College. She served eight years as a missionary for New Tribes Bible Institute, worked as an RN at the Polyclinic Hospital, and then enjoyed a twenty-eight year career as a lab instructor in the Nursing Department of HACC.
Shirley was the widow of David T. Ream and is survived by her daughter, Kimberly A. LaRue as well as her son-in-law, and two grandchildren. Shirley treasured spending time with her family and especially loved to dote on her two grandchildren who always brought her great joy. She enjoyed cake decorating and many other crafts in her free time.
She attended the Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, and had a consistent personal testimony of her faith in Jesus. As a family, we find peace and hope in knowing she is now in Heaven.
A memorial service to remember and celebrate her life is planned at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg on Friday, October 28, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. until the service. Interment will be in Pottstown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made in loving memory of Shirley to New Tribes Mission, c/o NTM USA, 1000 East First Street, Sanford, FL 32771 (or http://usa.ntm.org).
Arrangements under the direction of Neill Funeral Home, Harrisburg, PA.
