Born December 26, 1939 in San Fili, Cosenza, Italy; she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Divina (Caputo) D’Agostino; and preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Obrock, Sr.; and her brother, Albert D’Agostino.
Sylvia touched many lives as her warm heart and kindness were felt by all those who knew her. She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She enjoyed dancing at parties and traveling with her late husband James and their friends and taking care of her family.
Surviving are three sons, James Obrock Jr., of Harrisburg, John Obrock and his wife, Jodi, of Enola and Michael Obrock, of Harrisburg; six grandchildren, Garrett Obrock, Mark Obrock, Annette Eckels, Nikki Obrock, Matthew Obrock and Tierra Obrock; seven great-grandchildren, Grace Obrock, Riley Obrock, Camden Obrock, Lucy Eckels, Owen Zimmerman, Charles Zimmerman and Juniper Zimmerman; and two brothers, Gaetano D’Agostino and Mario D’Agostino, both of New Cumberland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at St. Catherine Laboure Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be from 10:00 AM Tuesday until the time of the service at the church.
