Born in Davia, Tripoli, Arcadia, Greece on June 7, 1934, he was the son of the late Christos and Konstantina Harbilas. His father immigrated to the United States in 1951, leaving him to care for the family until they immigrated to the states in 1956. He owned and operated the Elite Restaurant with his late brother in law, Bill Nichols, from 1960 to 1977 where he then ran the restaurant solo until 1986. After, he helped his brothers at the State Restaurant. He also worked in the cafeteria of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry part time until his retirement. He touched the lives of many people with his kindness and generosity. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Theodore was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Camp Hill where he was also a member of AHEPA.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathryn Koulouki Harbilas; his daughter, Konstantina Brandes, wife of Randall of Lebanon; his son, Christ Harbilas, of Harrisburg; his grandsons, Steven, Theodore and Evan Brandes; and his beautiful granddaughter, Alysa Harbilas; his brothers, Elias Harbilas (Helen) and John Harbilas (Kathryn); his sisters, Stavroula Bekos, Georgia Nichols and Nikki Vovakes; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tim Harbilas and a younger sister.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1000 Yverdon Drive, Camp Hill. Viewing will be held at the Cathedral one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow at east Harrisburg Cemetery, Harrisburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Compassionate Care Fund of Hospice of Central PA in memory of Theodore Harbilas.
